Rhodia - The Soprophor® Series

Tristyrylphenol-Based Surfactans for Agricultral Applications
Tristyrylphenol (TSP)-based surfactants are a core component of Rhodia’s formulation additives portfolio. They are unique for the physicochemical properties they provide in formulations, and for their toxicological and ecotoxicological properties. TSP-based surfactants provide significant performance advantages over classic surfactants such as nonylphenol ethoxylates due to the unique size and structure of the hydrophobe. Nonionic Soprophor products are synthesized by ethoxylation or ethoxylation-propoxylation; anionics are prepared from ethoxylated tristyrylphenol by phosphation or sulfation. Rhodia’s extensive line of TSP-based surfactants provides formulators with the right tools to perfect any agrochemical formulation.
Why Choose Soprophor® Surfactants:
High Affinity for Active Ingredients
Versatile Emulsifiers and Dispersants
Excellent Colloidal Stability
Lower Phytotoxicity (compared to nonylphenol 10EO)
Good Toxicological Profile
More Efficient in Milling Processes Due to Strong Interaction with Organic Active Ingredients
