Sartomer's New Diene-Based TPU
Global specialty chemicals manufacturer Sartomer Company today introduced its newest product — 7840 TPU — a diene-based thermoplastic polyurethane designed for the rubber and plastic markets.
The addition of 7840 TPU enables formulators to apply urethane properties to standard rubber formulations. Thermoplastic polyurethanes based on diene prepolymers present a new form with both rubber-like soft segments and hard urethane linkages. 7840 TPU can be processed using standard rubber and thermoplastic equipment. Ideal applications include polymer/rubber modification, tie layers, barrier layers, adhesives, sealants, hoses and tubing, wire and cable, footwear, film, coatings, and sheet.
